Originally from California, Peter spent the first decade of his career in the motion picture industry as a film editor, documentary cinematographer, still photographer and screenwriter in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Subsequently, he spent eight years in environmental land-planning, designing sustainable land-use plans for public and private landowners.
Peter was a founding member of the American Cinema Awards Foundation, honoring legendary performers in film, television and music such as Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Elizabeth Taylor, for the benefit of the Motion Picture and Television Fund.
